Spengler Nathanson P.L.L. was founded in 1947 by four attorneys. It has grown into a full service law firm consisting of an integrated group of attorneys concentrating in many different areas of law including business, real estate, labor, tax, estate planning, litigation and family law. Our litigation practice includes business, civil rights, product liability defense, and personal injury - both plaintiff and defense. One area of special significance to Spengler Nathanson is public law and public service. Three former Law Directors of the City of Toledo have been members of the firm, and one of our partners served in both the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate. Two of our former partners are now judges, one on the federal bench and one on the common pleas bench. One of our founding partners helped create the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, and the firm has been its counsel since its inception. We represent many school boards, the University of Toledo, governmental subdivisions, and a number of public agencies. In the private sector, we handle a wide variety of business and employment matters for companies of all sizes as well as non-profit enterprises. Our clients include manufacturers, banks, insurance companies, retailers, physician groups, security firms, architects, engineering firms, hospital groups, and construction companies. Spengler Nathanson has always been active in the Toledo and Ohio State Bar Associations. Eight of our attorneys have served as Presidents of the Toledo Bar Association, and one of our partners recently served as President of the Ohio State Bar Association.
